The United States and its allies are starting an ambitious campaign to strengthen Ukrainian defense against Russian aggression with this most recent authorization of guns and equipment. Ukraine has already received $50 billion in security assistance.

In order to strengthen defense capabilities throughout the region, the U.S. today unveiled a comprehensive security assistance program worth $325 million. This program will increase resources for small arms, anti-armor systems, ammunition for HIMARS and artillery rounds, logistic support vehicles, and maintenance support.
“The Biden-Harris administration will announce a new security assistant package for Ukraine as part of our ongoing efforts to help Ukraine defend itself against Russia’s brutal invasion,” Karine Jean-Pierre, the press secretary for the White House, stated on Wednesday.
“The package will include more ammunition for U.S.-provided HIMARS, rocket systems, and anti-armor systems, as well as additional artillery rounds. The United States will continue to work with our allies and partners to help Ukraine defend itself, to defend its democracy, and protect its people.”

Secretary of State Anthony Blinken emphasized the necessity of international unity on behalf of Ukraine on Wednesday in light of Russia’s ongoing unfriendly actions.
“Russia could end its war today. Until Russia does, the United States and our allies and partners will stand united with Ukraine for as long as it takes,” he said.
