President Donald Trump announced a major victory in the global war on terror Friday night after U.S. forces working side-by-side with Nigerian troops successfully eliminated one of ISIS’s top leaders operating in Africa — delivering another crushing blow to the radical Islamic terror network.
The announcement came directly from Trump in a post on Truth Social, where the president revealed that the operation was personally authorized by him and carried out with precision by American and Nigerian forces.
“Tonight, at my direction, brave American forces and the Armed Forces of Nigeria flawlessly executed a meticulously planned and very complex mission to eliminate the most active terrorist in the world from the battlefield,” Trump wrote.
According to the president, the terror target was Abu-Bilal al-Minuki, identified as ISIS’s second-in-command and one of the organization’s most dangerous operational masterminds hiding out in Africa.
