Two U.S. Troops Killed — One Vanishes

The Pentagon has confirmed that two American service members were killed during a large-scale Iranian missile and drone assault in Jordan late Saturday, marking another deadly escalation in the rapidly deteriorating conflict between the United States and Iran.

According to military officials, one additional U.S. service member remains missing following the attack. Four American troops who sustained injuries were transported to hospitals in Jordan for treatment and have since been released. Several other personnel were evaluated for minor injuries and returned to their posts shortly afterward.

“On July 17, two U.S. service members in Jordan were killed in action as U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) and partner forces defended against Iranian ballistic missile and drone attacks. Additionally, one service member is currently missing,” U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) confirmed in a statement. “Out of respect for the families, CENTCOM will withhold additional information, including the identities of the fallen warriors, until 24 hours after the next of kin have been notified,” the statement added.
