Two Delta Planes COLLIDE at LaGuardia! (VIDEO)

>> Continued From the Previous Page <<

Videos from the airport show the immediate aftermath of the wreckage, with stunned travelers scrambling to understand what had just happened. Flight tracking data also revealed the precise moment the two planes collided.

In chilling audio captured from air traffic control, a pilot explained the extent of the damage: “Their right wing clipped our nose and the cockpit. We have damage to our windscreen and… some of our screens in here.”

Passengers themselves described a terrifying experience. “We got absolutely smashed by another Delta flight. I don’t know if we hit them or they hit us, but it was super jarring,” CBS News producer Joey Annunziato, who was aboard the flight from Charlotte, recalled in a video statement.

Another traveler, William Lusk, told ABC News what it felt like in the cabin at the moment of impact. He said the plane suddenly “stopped, jerked, and jumped to the right.” The silence afterward was deafening.

“Everyone went dead silent. And as everyone went dead silent, the pilot calmly came on and said, ‘Hey, we’ve been in a crash, everyone remain calm,’” Lusk remembered. His words highlight just how tense and surreal the moment was for everyone on board.

Thankfully, by what can only be described as a miracle, there were no passenger injuries reported. However, one cabin crew member did sustain non-life-threatening injuries and had to be taken to a hospital for treatment.

Following the collision, passengers were evacuated from both planes and escorted onto shuttle buses. Delta promised to arrange hotels and provide new flights the following day for those stranded. But for many of the passengers, no free hotel stay is likely to erase the memory of what they just lived through.

This latest accident raises deeper questions about what’s happening inside America’s airline industry. In recent months, travelers have dealt with repeated mechanical failures, emergency landings, and questionable safety lapses. Now, with planes smashing into each other on runways, the public has every right to demand answers.

Airlines have long assured passengers that air travel is the “safest form of transportation,” but when two jets belonging to the same company collide at one of the busiest airports in the nation, it’s fair to question just how “safe” the system really is.

For Delta and other carriers, this incident is another black eye in a growing list of mishaps that have shaken public trust. While corporate press releases downplay the seriousness by calling it a “low-speed collision,” the reality is undeniable — dozens of passengers went through an avoidable, terrifying accident.

As the investigation unfolds, Americans are left wondering: are airline safety standards slipping, or is this just another example of corporate negligence being brushed off with PR spin?
