On Saturday, Trump followed through on his warnings and officially implemented tariffs on the three nations after repeated inaction on critical issues affecting American security. Using the International Emergency Economic Powers Act (IEEPA), the president applied:
- 25% tariffs on all Mexican imports
- 25% tariffs on nearly all Canadian imports, with a 10% tariff specifically on Canadian energy resources
- 10% tariffs on all Chinese imports
