“They’ll do anything: secretary of something, they even say VP. Has anyone seen a VP in that group? I don’t think so,” at an auto parts plant in Clinton Township, Trump addressed the throng.

Steven Cheung, a representative for Trump, said in an email to The Washington Post that the president was precise in his remarks, but he remained ambiguous as to whether all seven candidates would be shunned from the debate.

Trump’s love for South Dakota’s Republican governor, Kristi Noem, has drawn attention and raised the possibility that he would choose her as his vice president.

“I think she’s fantastic,” Trump said in an interview. “She’s been a great governor. She gave me a very full-throated endorsement, a beautiful endorsement. It’s been a very good state for me, and certainly, she would be one of the people I would consider for something else, maybe. We have a lot of great people in the Republican Party.”

Trump makes a suggestion that he would like a female running mate but stresses the significance of selecting the ideal candidate.

“You always do a little bit, but I don’t think it’s time,” Trump said, per the Washington Examiner. “I want to win, and, you know, it’s very interesting about running mates, when you get down to a vice president, they said, ‘Nobody has ever made that kind of a difference.’ It’s still about the person that’s going to be president.”

Trump’s “VP list” is now down to five Republicans, with Noem emerging as a strong contender, according to a Roll Call story.

Despite being the subject of four indictments in various jurisdictions, Trump’s popularity has surged. Surprisingly, a recent poll showed that he is now surpassing Biden in significant swing states.

“The states that had the narrowest margin of victory for either candidate last cycle were Arizona, Georgia, Michigan, Nevada, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin, with Biden winning all but North Carolina. Across those key swing states, Trump is ahead of Biden 41% to 35%, and 24% of voters remain undecided, according to a Reuters/Ipsos poll,” The Daily Caller reported.

“Among independent voters, the former president also held a slight advantage over Biden, according to the poll. Trump received 32% support among independents compared to Biden’s 30%, and 38% was undecided. Uncertain voters favored Biden over Trump at 49% to 38%,” The DC made a point, referencing the study.

According to the poll, Biden and Trump would tie with 39% of the vote in a hypothetical head-to-head matchup for the 2024 election. Concerns about the president’s age, the economy, and crime were frequently mentioned by voters as important deciding considerations.

According to polling data from July, Trump leads his Democratic rival in swing states.

A striking trend in recent survey data shows that 48% of respondents in crucial swing states are inclined to vote for Trump while only 41% are willing to vote for Biden. Despite the fact that Trump has 42% of the vote to Biden’s 43%, it’s important to remember that the Republican front-runner might earn a sizable edge in the Electoral College by winning over the swing states. It’s possible that this will tilt the balances in his favor.

Recent polls show Trump dominating and surpassing Biden. Trump has a commanding 7-point lead in the ABC/Washington Post survey results for May.
