In an unexpected move that highlights the Democrats’ lax stance on border security, Representative Jamie Raskin (D-MD) is calling for the return of Venezuelan criminals deported from the United States. During a congressional hearing, Raskin demanded that the individuals, who were sent to a prison in El Salvador, be brought back to the U.S. immediately. This call for action has raised concerns about the safety and security of American citizens, particularly in light of the ongoing issues surrounding illegal immigration and crime.
“I call on my colleagues to demand that the Trump Administration comply with all judicial orders while appealing whichever ones they want to appeal, and to demand the return of people unlawfully taken to El Salvador on that so-called plane full of ‘gang bangers,'” Raskin said, directing his remarks at fellow lawmakers during a hearing on Tuesday.

Raskin’s comments were in reference to the deportation of suspected gang members, including members of the notorious Tren de Aragua and MS-13, who had entered the U.S. illegally. These individuals were flown out of the U.S. last month and sent to El Salvador as part of a deal between the Trump administration and President Nayib Bukele. The agreement involved sending these criminals to one of the country’s infamous mega-prisons, where they would face severe punishment for their involvement in criminal enterprises.
