Trump’s New Billionaire Allies!

>> Continued From the Previous Page <<

This influx of support from financial heavyweights could be a game-changer for Trump, who has been lagging behind Biden in the fundraising stakes. Reports from Fox Business reveal that the Biden campaign has consistently outperformed Trump’s in terms of funds until this April, when Trump’s numbers finally topped Biden’s for the first time in the current election cycle.

The backing from Schwarzman and others comes at a crucial time, as Trump’s campaign has been strained by hefty legal costs. According to The New York Times, as of April, the Biden campaign held a significant lead with $84.5 million in net cash compared to Trump’s $48 million. The previous month, Trump’s campaign saw a $3 million increase.

A recent fundraising event hosted by billionaire John Paulson at his Palm Beach estate has significantly bolstered Trump’s campaign coffers. The event, which featured contributions of up to $814,600 per person for a seat at Trump’s table, was a striking success, drawing in more than $50 million—doubling what Biden raised at a similar event graced by former Presidents Obama and Clinton and several Hollywood celebrities.

The Paulson event also saw substantial contributions from other prominent figures like Robert and Rebekah Mercer, oil tycoon Harold Hamm, casino magnate Steve Wynn, and Todd Ricketts, co-owner of the Chicago Cubs. These individuals have played pivotal roles in past fundraising efforts and continue to be influential in the 2024 election cycle.

Trump’s recent fundraising efforts included a tour through Texas, where he attended another high-profile fundraiser in Houston. This event, hosted by Hamm along with other notable billionaires like Jeff Hildebrand and George Bishop, was followed by a roundtable discussion involving about 45 executives. Another fundraising event took place in Dallas, further boosting his campaign’s financial standing.

Amidst these fundraising successes, Trump has also reconciled with Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, his closest rival in the Republican primary. This warming of relations, evident during a call with GOP donors, was described by The Washington Examiner as “warm and gracious.” Trump expressed his fondness for DeSantis, remarking, “Ron, I love that you’re back,” as they discussed various national issues and shared interests such as golf.

This reconciliation and the successful fundraising efforts in April, where Trump raised $76 million compared to Biden’s $51 million, signal a potent revival in Trump’s campaign. It reflects not only his enduring appeal among major donors but also his strategic positioning ahead of the 2024 presidential election.
