Judge Merchan’s Back-and-Forth
Judge Merchan, who has overseen Trump’s case since his conviction last year on 34 felony counts of falsifying business records, initially hinted at a potential dismissal of the charges based on Trump’s argument of presidential immunity. However, the judge later reversed course, deciding Trump must face consequences, even if those penalties are delayed until after his next term.
