President Donald Trump issued a dramatic warning Saturday as the ongoing Department of Homeland Security funding standoff shows no signs of resolution. With airports already strained and frontline workers stretched thin, Trump made clear he is prepared to take extraordinary action if Democrats continue blocking a deal.
In a post on Truth Social, the president signaled that Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents could soon be deployed to major U.S. airports to fill growing security gaps caused by the partial shutdown.
“If the Radical Left Democrats don’t immediately sign an agreement to let our Country, in particular, our Airports, be FREE and SAFE again, I will move our brilliant and patriotic ICE Agents to the Airports where they will do Security like no one has ever seen before,” Trump wrote.
The statement marks a major escalation in the standoff, placing the spotlight squarely on airport safety and national security as political gridlock continues in Washington.
Trump did not stop there. He also emphasized that any ICE deployment would not be limited to airport duties alone, suggesting broader enforcement actions could take place simultaneously.
