During his pre-recorded Iowa town hall with Fox News’s Sean Hannity, former President Donald Trump effectively inflamed the mainstream media. Based on the excitement in the press the next morning, his strategy appears to have been a complete success.
The national media, with headlines like “Trump Deflects Question On Retribution And Law-Breaking At Town Hall” from The New York Times, have quickly taken Trump’s remarks to the farthest extreme.

According to Fox News contributor Joe Concha, former President Trump would utilize executive orders on his first day in office to undo the accomplishments of his predecessors and enact his own policies, just like his predecessors did. This is not a sign of tyranny, despite the fact that it can appear to be a common political ploy.
“What I took away from it before you read those headlines that he would likely use executive orders to close the border and drill, drill, drill back here in America again.
And, of course, the easiest bet you could make another network having a complete and total meltdown over that comment when they know exactly what he meant. All while ignoring this fact. I can guarantee you won’t see this in any stories and you will not hear this on any other networks: Joe Biden signed more executive orders and actions in his first 100 days, including multiple Executive Orders and actions on day one than Trump or Obama or George W. Bush. So, so much for the whole Dictator thing.”

The Associated Press reported on Tuesday, somewhat obtusely, “Trump declines to rule out abusing power to seek retribution if he returns to the White House,” even if they provided a true recounting of the conversation without providing the context of the Executive Order. The opinion expressed by The Daily Beast, a radical left newspaper, was comparable to that of the AP. “Donald Trump, in a Fox News town hall Wednesday, did not rule out breaking the law if re-elected president.”
Set the record straight: Trump and Hannity were correctly cited by the AP.
“Under no circumstances, you are promising America tonight, you would never abuse power as retribution against anybody?” Hannity asked Trump.
“Except for day one,” Trump replied. “I want to close the border and I want to drill, drill, drill.”
He added, “I love this guy,” speaking of Hannity. “He says, ‘You’re not going to be a dictator, are you?’ I said: ‘No, no, no, other than day one. We’re closing the border and we’re drilling, drilling, drilling. After that, I’m not a dictator.’”

Earlier in the conversation, Trump asked Hannity a similar question in response, mentioning the previous steps taken against him by the Biden Administration. Inquiring as to whether Trump had “in any way” made “plans whatsoever, if reelected president, to abuse power, to break the law to use the government to go after people.” To which Trump quipped asking “You mean like they’re using right now?”
As was to be expected, the Biden team capitalized on the media hysteria by releasing a statement from Julie Chavez Rodriguez, the campaign manager for 2024, saying, “Donald Trump has been telling us exactly what he will do if he’s reelected and tonight he said he will be a dictator on day one. Americans should believe him.”

Give me a break!!!! Trump made himself PERFECTLY clear!! This Admin,News Org’s, left wing lunes, etc., are completely sick with their hatred of President Trump. They could care less about our country. Their only concern is to destroy President Trump. Sad what they have done and continue to do to our country to achieve that end!!!!
All can notice how the Dem twisted Pres. Trumps words but that’s how his non-supporters normally do things, making what he said totally different from what he actually said.
Glad all the lefts attempts to remove Pres Trump from our ballots have been another failure for them.
