Former President Barack Obama once shipped pallets of cash to Iran and called it diplomacy. Years later, the Iranian regime is still running the same tired playbook — stall negotiations, demand concessions, and buy enough time to keep its nuclear ambitions alive.
But this time, according to President Donald Trump, the rules have changed.
And after a striking phone call with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Sunday night, it became clear that Trump intends to control every aspect of the negotiations himself — without outside interference from allies, global institutions, or foreign governments.
Trump Draws a Hard Line With Netanyahu
Trump confirmed the call personally while speaking with Axios reporter Barak Ravid.
“It was a very nice conversation,” Trump said. “We have a good relationship, but this is my business, not anyone else’s.”
