The European Union has just blinked.
After President Trump unleashed a bold wave of tariffs aimed at realigning global trade in favor of American workers, the European bloc—long benefitting from a lopsided trade surplus—has come crawling back to the table. EU officials confirmed Monday they are now “ready to negotiate,” signaling a stunning reversal just days after Trump’s aggressive tariffs rocked the foundations of transatlantic commerce.
