On Tuesday evening, Senate Democrats blocked a Republican-backed bill that would have kept the government funded through November 21. Instead of compromising, Democrats dug in their heels, setting the stage for a shutdown. But for Trump, this isn’t just a stalemate — it’s an opening.
“Well, we may do a lot, and that’s only because of the Democrats,” Trump said in a video posted to X when asked about potential layoffs of government workers.
