A growing rift inside the conservative movement burst into the open this week after President Donald Trump sharply criticized former Fox News host Tucker Carlson over Carlson’s attacks on the U.S. military’s recent operations targeting Iran.
The comments came during a new interview with ABC News correspondent Jonathan Karl, where Trump made it clear he believes Carlson has drifted away from the principles that fueled the America First movement.
Karl revealed on X that he spoke at length with the president, and Trump did not hold back when asked about Carlson’s recent criticism of the White House.
“Tucker has lost his way,” Trump told Karl.
The president went even further, suggesting the former Fox News star no longer represents the core values of the Make America Great Again movement.
“I knew that a long time ago, and he’s not MAGA.”
