President Joe Biden’s latest public outing at the National Bar Association’s 100th anniversary gala Thursday night did little to dispel growing concerns about his health and mental sharpness—if anything, it raised more questions than ever.
Held at the Hyatt Regency in Chicago, the event gathered some of the nation’s most prominent black legal minds, including Supreme Court Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson, Congresswoman Jasmine Crockett, and a number of black judges and attorneys. But all eyes turned to Biden’s concerning behavior from the moment he arrived.
The 82-year-old president looked visibly disoriented as he was led to his seat, requiring assistance just to navigate the room. This rare appearance comes after Biden confirmed he’s battling a serious form of prostate cancer that has reportedly spread to his bones—yet the White House has made few public statements on how it’s affecting his day-to-day function.
