Sources revealed that Fauci, once the face of America’s pandemic response, will now rely on privately hired security for his protection. The abrupt decision comes as Fauci continues to receive threats related to his prominent role during the COVID-19 pandemic. “Given he continues to face ongoing threats due to his public-facing role during the Covid-19 pandemic, Fauci has now hired his own private security that he’ll pay for himself,” a source told CNN.

Fauci, who retired as the highest-paid federal employee with an annual salary of $480,654, also reportedly amassed a net worth of at least $11 million during his tenure. Despite leaving public office, detailed records from the U.S. Marshals Service showed that Fauci benefited from round-the-clock security and luxury transportation. These services, estimated to cost taxpayers $15 million over two years, were a point of contention for many.
