The administration announced that it will redirect tariff revenue — money collected from foreign imports — to keep the Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) program fully operational. The initiative, officially known as the Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants, and Children, was at risk of running out of funds after weeks of budget gridlock in Congress.
White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt exposed the Democrats’ recklessness in a powerful statement.
“The Democrats are so cruel in their continual votes to shut down the government that they forced the WIC program for the most vulnerable women and children to run out this week,” she wrote on X.
