President Donald Trump stormed back into the halls of Capitol Hill this week with a clear mission: unify Republicans and push through his signature legislation — the “One Big, Beautiful Bill.”
During a high-stakes, closed-door meeting with House Republicans, Trump didn’t mince words. He urged lawmakers to drop petty disputes and get behind House Speaker Mike Johnson’s leadership to pass his sweeping domestic agenda. According to three insiders familiar with the private gathering, Trump pressed for unity, telling GOP holdouts to fall in line and help deliver a major legislative win before November.
But it was Trump’s fiery exchange with the media after the meeting that turned heads.
When asked about rumors that he had grown frustrated with dissenting Republicans behind closed doors, Trump dismissed the claim outright.
“I’m not losing patience. We’re ahead of schedule. Anybody that told you that is a liar,” Trump declared bluntly.
He took the opportunity to tout the current state of the GOP, calling it more unified than ever before.
