President Donald Trump’s sweeping immigration crackdown scored another pair of courtroom victories Friday as federal judges cleared his administration to strip deportation protections from thousands of migrants.
Federal courts in Boston and Chicago rejected attempts by immigration advocacy groups to prevent the Department of Homeland Security from terminating Temporary Protected Status, or TPS, for nationals of South Sudan and Myanmar.
The decisions represent another legal boost for Trump as his administration works to dismantle immigration policies that allowed foreign nationals to remain and work legally in the United States for years under supposedly temporary humanitarian programs.
