For decades, America’s childhood vaccine schedule expanded with little public attention outside medical and government circles. President Donald Trump is now putting that policy under a microscope—and Health Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. is standing alongside him.
Trump’s August 10 executive order calls for a major restructuring of federal childhood vaccine recommendations, placing greater emphasis on parental choice, individualized medical decisions and comparisons with vaccination practices in other developed nations.
The move represents a significant victory for Trump’s Make America Healthy Again, or MAHA, coalition, which has spent years demanding a closer examination of how childhood vaccines are recommended in the United States.
