Trump Just Drew a Line With One VETO

Nearly a year into his historic return to the White House, President Donald Trump has finally pulled the veto pen for the first time in his second term and the decisions are already sparking controversy inside Washington.

The twin vetoes, announced by Trump’s rapid response team, immediately reignited debates over federal spending, immigration enforcement, and whether Washington should continue footing the bill for local projects that have ballooned far beyond their original scope.

As expected, Democrats rushed to attack the move. But what surprised many observers was the sharp backlash from a Republican lawmaker who has long been viewed as one of Trump’s most reliable allies.

Trump Blocks Everglades Land Expansion for Miccosukee Tribe

The first veto targeted the “Miccosukee Reserved Area Amendments Act,” a bill that would have expanded the land designated for the Miccosukee Tribe inside Everglades National Park. The legislation sought to officially include a section of land known as Osceola Camp within the reservation boundaries.
