Trump Endorses Vivek – Ohio Shaken!

>> Continued From the Previous Page <<

The former GOP presidential candidate is wasting no time hitting the campaign trail, with scheduled rallies in Columbus, Toledo, and Cleveland in the coming days. His entrance into the race has already reshaped the Republican primary, where he was leading in early polling even before Trump’s endorsement. State Attorney General Dave Yost, who launched his campaign last month, now faces an uphill battle against Ramaswamy’s rising momentum.

With current Governor Mike DeWine term-limited, the race for Ohio’s next leader is wide open. While DeWine has yet to weigh in on the contest, his endorsement—or lack thereof—could be a factor, as he has long been associated with the more establishment side of the Republican Party.

Trump’s endorsement is expected to make Ramaswamy the clear frontrunner in a state where the former president remains overwhelmingly popular. Ohio has leaned increasingly red in recent election cycles, with Trump carrying the state by 11 points in 2024 and DeWine winning re-election by a staggering 25-point margin in 2022.

Ramaswamy, who made waves during the 2024 Republican primary before dropping out and endorsing Trump, has positioned himself as a staunch conservative ready to lead Ohio into a new era of pro-business policies. Following his presidential bid, he worked alongside Elon Musk to establish the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) initiative before shifting his focus back to Ohio’s gubernatorial race.

“We will lead Ohio to be the top state in the country, where we embrace capitalism and meritocracy instead of apologizing for it,’’ Ramaswamy told supporters during his campaign launch. “We will lead Ohio to be the top state in the country that takes a hatchet to red tape, over-regulation and bureaucracy.”

His campaign has already garnered backing from key figures in Ohio’s Republican Party. Secretary of State Frank LaRose and state Treasurer Robert Sprague, both once considered potential candidates, have publicly endorsed Ramaswamy. Sprague has since shifted his focus to the secretary of state race, while LaRose will be running for state auditor.

With the GOP primary winner heavily favored in the general election, Ramaswamy’s momentum is undeniable. His alignment with Trump’s America First agenda and his reputation as a political outsider have made him an attractive candidate for conservative voters eager for fresh leadership in Ohio.

As Ramaswamy’s campaign heats up, his ability to rally support across the state will be closely watched. With Trump’s powerful endorsement and a message focused on economic growth and deregulation, he is well on his way to solidifying his place as the Republican standard-bearer in the race for Ohio governor.
