President Donald Trump is casting doubt on Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez’s latest attempt to distance herself from the progressive politics that helped make her a national Democratic star.
Ocasio-Cortez, the New York Democrat better known as AOC, recently acknowledged that the era of “Woke 1” went too far. Her comments come as Democrats face growing pressure to rethink some of the cultural and criminal-justice positions that became closely associated with the party during the political upheaval of the early 2020s.
Trump, however, is not buying the makeover.
