For years, Schiff and his Democrat allies saturated the airwaves, insisted they had “evidence of collusion,” and used that lie to push for investigations, impeachments, and media hysteria. But not once did they produce any real proof — even after Special Counsel Robert Mueller found there was no coordination between Trump and Russia.
Turley, a professor at George Washington University, pulled no punches in a follow-up column. He accused Democrat leaders and their media allies of burying the truth and misleading the country.
He wrote: “Not surprisingly, the media (which spent years repeating the false Russian collusion claims) is doing a full-court press to kill the story. Yet, many of these key figures are retaining counsel in anticipation of the unfolding investigation. Many previously secured contracts with MSNBC or CNN, or book deals, where they doubled down on the false claims detailed in these new documents.”
The heart of the scandal lies with top Obama-era officials who, according to Turley, orchestrated and amplified the false narrative in coordination with Hillary Clinton’s 2016 campaign. The goal? Paint Trump as a Russian puppet — all without a shred of real intelligence backing it up.

Turley added: “Many of these same congressional figures were fully aware that Russian collusion was rejected by American intelligence before the start of the Trump term. However, they continued to knowingly spread the disinformation for political purposes.”
Trump himself is now calling for accountability — and he’s not alone. Former Democrat Tulsi Gabbard, who now serves as his Director of National Intelligence, said last week that she has referred former President Barack Obama to the Justice Department for criminal prosecution.
The referral comes amid revelations that Obama was briefed by former CIA Director John Brennan in 2016 about Hillary Clinton’s scheme to fabricate a Russian collusion narrative — a plan Brennan not only knew about but actively helped implement.
“Notably, it was Brennan who briefed Obama in 2016 about Hillary Clinton’s plan to create a Russian conspiracy to vilify Donald Trump by stirring up a scandal claiming interference by the Russian security service. Months later, it would be Brennan who would actively incorporate the dossier secretly funded by Clinton’s campaign,” Turley stated.
What’s worse? Even after leaving office, Brennan and others continued to push the lie — hoping to salvage their reputations or distract from their role in one of the most deceptive political operations in modern American history.
Schiff, now a U.S. Senator after winning a 2024 election, has yet to face any real consequences for his role in spreading the hoax. Throughout his time on the January 6 committee, he repeatedly claimed to have bombshell evidence of Russian collusion — evidence that, to this day, has never materialized.
Turley put it best: “The mantra in the media and the Democratic Party that there is nothing to see here is predictable but hardly credible.”
With Crow’s accidental truth bomb, the house of cards may finally be crumbling. The American people deserve answers — and justice.
