They Spent $60M to Destroy Paxton… Didn’t Work

Washington’s political class just launched one of the most expensive intraparty wars in recent Texas history. And despite the tidal wave of cash, attack ads, and coordinated pressure from Senate leadership, Attorney General Ken Paxton is still standing tall.

The nation’s capital has poured tens of millions of dollars into the Texas Republican Senate primary in an effort to block Paxton’s path to Washington. Yet the more the establishment spends, the more this race begins to look like a replay of past grassroots revolts that defied elite predictions.

Paxton addressed the firestorm head-on during an appearance on Fox News Sunday. When asked about the flood of attacks saturating the airwaves, he didn’t flinch.

“When you’re over the target, when you’re fighting, they come after you,” he said. “And you can see, every single legal battle I’ve won.”

Every. Single. One.

Those words cut to the heart of what has become the central issue in this race. The political establishment has tried for years to take Paxton down through legal challenges, public scandals, and relentless media scrutiny. Yet he remains in office and, now, at the top of primary polling.
