This past month, the administration of Vice President Joe Biden sent shockwaves through the homes of American citizens when they announced their opposition to gas stoves and started studying methods to phase them out. This resulted in consumers all over the country voicing their disapproval, as they are well aware of the fact that many of their most beloved home appliances are in jeopardy, as climate change opponents seek to restrict other types of domestic comforts such as washing machines, space heaters, and more. It is very clear that there is no longer any domestic object that is secure; what comes next?
On January 9, the Consumer Product Safety Commission highlighted the fact that approximately one-third of all families in the United States depend on gas stoves for cooking and meal preparation, but cautioned that these appliances might be dangerous if they are not used in accordance with the safety requirements.

Research that was published in the International Journal of Environmental Research and Public Health and was presented by CPSC Commissioner Richard Trumka Jr. suggested that gas stoves constitute a health hazard to consumers “hidden hazard,” and added that “Any option is on the table. Products that can’t be made safe can be banned.”
The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) issued a follow-up statement in a hurry after the anticipated uproar was caused by people who thought this most recent autocratic anger to be a touch excessive “The Commission has not proposed regulatory action at this time. Commission staff also continues to work with voluntary standards organizations to examine gas stove emissions and address potential hazards.”
The phrase “at this time” is the most important part.

Climate scolds and activists, who would rather see us embrace a lifestyle more akin to that of the Stone Age, are becoming more hostile toward the amenities offered by modern society. The list of things they want to do rid of is extensive and goes much beyond the simple act of replacing gas stoves.
The Democrats and their supporters are pushing for restrictions that might deprive us of things that we have learned to rely on, and they are doing this everywhere from the living room to the kitchen. This is a component of an extreme climate change agenda, argues Ben Lieberman, a senior scholar at the Competitive Enterprise Institute.
“There’s bad news for almost every room in the house,” Lieberman told Fox News Digital. “Climate activists and the Biden administration want homeowners to stop using natural gas and to electrify everything. That would affect appliances that come in natural gas and electric versions such as stoves, but also heating systems and water heaters.
“So, there are efforts underway to tilt the balance in favor of electric versions even though natural gas is considerably cheaper on a per-unit energy basis. It makes sense to give consumers that choice rather than force them towards electric.”
According to Fox, the following are among the items on Biden’s list of things he wants banned: “water heaters, furnaces, clothes washers, dishwashers, ceiling fans, microwave ovens and shower heads,” everything in an effort to push his impossible net-zero climate ambitions farther.
Over one hundred and ten new restrictions on items were implemented by the federal government in 2022, with Vice President Joe Biden at the helm. These restrictions were imposed on products that were assessed to be contributing to harmful levels of climate change.
But Lieberman pointed out that if technologically sophisticated home appliances were what everyone wants, then they would “sell themselves,” and it wouldn’t be necessary for the government to impose rules requiring their use.
“I think there are some real problems from a consumer’s standpoint when you start to reduce choices — I would say that you’re never doing consumers a favor when you’re reducing choices and forcing them to take eco-friendly models which will be on the market regardless,” Lieberman said. “The question is: Do we want mandates that force that choice on everyone, especially when it’s the more expensive option upfront?”
A big surprise is in store for consumers as a result of new restrictions that threaten to push up the cost of items and appliances that are used on a daily basis.
