The Left is once again reaching into its tired bag of excuses, this time pointing the finger at former President Donald Trump for the underwhelming international performance of Hollywood’s latest “Superman” reboot. Yes, you read that right—Trump is being blamed for a superhero movie not soaring high enough overseas.

The film, helmed by DC Studios co-head James Gunn, launched with decent numbers in the U.S. and a promising Rotten Tomatoes score of 82%, paired with an A- CinemaScore. It brought in $217 million worldwide in its opening weekend—$122 million from the U.S. and Canada alone.
So what’s the issue? The international box office underperformed, bringing in just $95 million. Numbers from China, Japan, and South Korea were lukewarm at best, and Europe wasn’t much better. France, Italy, and Spain together delivered only $9.6 million, far below the $15.6 million earned by “The Batman” during its opening weekend in the same markets.
