Student Suspended for Asking About the Flag?!

In what many are calling an outrageous overreach of power, a high school student in Maryland has been suspended and confronted by law enforcement—simply for asking why the American flag wasn’t hanging in his school’s classrooms.

Parker Jensen, a senior at Towson High School and a future U.S. Marine, says he was stunned by how administrators reacted to his patriotic concern. According to reports, the young man noticed a clear violation of state policy: no American flags in his school’s classrooms. The Maryland Education Code and Baltimore County regulations both mandate that every classroom must display the national flag. Jensen’s only “crime” was calling them out.

Instead of getting answers, he got handcuffs—or nearly so. When he brought the issue to the Board of Education, administrators didn’t offer an explanation or even a sit-down discussion. They called the police.

Three squad cars reportedly arrived to handle this “threat.” No weapons. No violence. No outburst. Just a young man asking a question about the American flag.
