Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez is discovering that political rebranding does not necessarily erase the past.
The New York Democrat recently appeared on ABC’s This Week with host Jonathan Karl, where the conversation turned to Wisconsin Democratic gubernatorial candidate Francesca Hong and the increasingly controversial legacy of the progressive movement’s “Woke 1.0” era.
Hong has faced renewed scrutiny over past positions involving police and prison abolition, as well as a previous call to “cancel Thanksgiving.” She has since attempted to explain how those views fit into her current political agenda.
