South Africa’s ambassador to the United States, Ebrahim Rasool, has been shown the door after making inflammatory remarks about former President Donald Trump. Secretary of State Marco Rubio made the announcement on Friday, making it clear that Rasool is no longer welcome in America.
Rubio took to social media platform X to deliver the message. “We have nothing to discuss with him and so he is considered PERSONA NON GRATA,” he posted, slamming Rasool as a “race-baiting politician who hates America and hates @POTUS.” His post linked to a Breitbart article exposing Rasool’s past comments about Trump.

The controversy erupted after Politico reported that Rasool accused Trump of spreading white supremacy worldwide. This statement came after Trump’s administration took a firm stance against South Africa’s policies targeting white Afrikaner farmers. In February, Trump signed an executive order cutting off U.S. aid to South Africa over its treatment of the Afrikaner community.
