Shohei Ohtani’s Image CRASHES After Lawsuit

Shohei Ohtani is a superstar on the baseball field, but his name is once again being dragged into controversy off of it.

The Los Angeles Dodgers’ $700 million man is being accused of weaponizing his celebrity power to muscle out smaller business partners in a luxury housing development worth nearly a quarter of a billion dollars.

Celebrity leverage turned into a business weapon

Real estate investor Kevin J. Hayes and broker Tomoko Matsumoto filed a lawsuit accusing Ohtani and his high-powered agent, Nez Balelo, of exploiting fame to dismantle their role in a $240 million Hawaii real estate deal.

The lawsuit says Ohtani and Balelo weren’t brought into the deal because of business expertise. Instead, their only value was the baseball star’s name recognition.
