Slavitt sent an email on March 2, 2021, requesting to know who at the company he and his White House colleagues could speak with regarding “the high levels of propaganda and misinformation and disinformation of [sic] Amazon?”

When the White House didn’t like how the search results looked, it emailed Amazon. The White House conducted keyword searches for contentious subjects like “vaccine”:
At first, Amazon made the decision to postpone “doing a manual intervention” in order to filter books.
Why? Not because they love free speech, but rather because it would be “too visible” to the American public and probably attract backlash from conservative media.

On January 31, Andrew Slavitt, a senior health officer from President Joe Biden’s coronavirus response team, is expected to testify before the House Judiciary Committee.
However, the White House advised the former COVID-19 senior adviser not to comply because of concerns about his attendance, so he was forced to ignore a congressional subpoena last week.
“To protect the constitutional separation of powers and the institutional interests of the White House, I write to inform you that the White House does not authorize Mr. Slavitt to appear at the Committee’s scheduled deposition,” White House counsel Richard Sauber wrote to Slavitt’s attorney one day before the scheduled deposition.
Therefore, the First Amendment rights of Americans are unimportant to the White House, but the constitutional “separation of powers” is.
This would make front-page news and cause a major scandal in any other circumstance.
But for this lawless administration led by Joe Biden, it’s just another day, another scandal.
