Legendary Hollywood actor Gene Hackman and his wife, classical pianist Betsy Arakawa, met a heartbreaking end in their Santa Fe home, with officials now confirming the causes of their deaths.

Authorities discovered the couple’s lifeless bodies last month, along with their deceased dog, in their private compound. Pills were found scattered across the bathroom, but Santa Fe County Sheriff Adan Mendoza stated, “There were no immediate signs of foul play.”

Hackman, a two-time Academy Award-winning actor known for classics like The French Connection and Unforgiven, passed away from hypertensive and atherosclerotic cardiac disease, according to a Santa Fe medical examiner’s report.
