Witnesses described the unsettling moment when the North Carolina representative stumbled on the stairs after casting her vote and speaking with her family in the gallery. Capitol Police quickly responded, surrounding the area and providing immediate assistance to the veteran lawmaker.

Following the incident, Capitol Police escorted Foxx to the Capitol’s attending physician’s office for medical evaluation. Fox News reported that the congresswoman needed assistance to reach the office but was ultimately able to walk on her own after being helped to her feet. Medical personnel treated her for several minor cuts, but no severe injuries were reported.
