Sheriff: This Changes Everything in Guthrie Case

Authorities in Arizona are intensifying their search for Nancy Guthrie, the 84-year-old mother of Savannah Guthrie, as disturbing new details continue to emerge about what law enforcement now believes may be a targeted abduction.

During a joint press briefing this week, the Pima County Sheriff’s Department and the Federal Bureau of Investigation confirmed that there are still no named suspects or persons of interest in the case. Despite the lack of arrests, officials stressed that the investigation remains active and wide-ranging. The FBI has announced a $50,000 reward for information leading to Guthrie’s recovery or the arrest and conviction of those responsible.

Nancy Guthrie was reported missing on January 31 from her home in the Catalina Foothills area north of Tucson. From the beginning, investigators have treated the case as suspicious. Sheriff Chris Nanos stated plainly that authorities believe Guthrie was taken from her home against her will and that there is still no confirmed proof of life.

When questioned about who last saw Guthrie before she vanished, Nanos confirmed that a family member drove her home on Saturday night but declined to identify the individual. He emphasized that no one has been ruled out.
