“Over the past nearly a year, my faith has become the most important thing in my life. Through that journey, I’ve spent a lot of time reflecting, questioning, praying and trying to understand my faith more and where God was starting to lead me,” she said.
“This hasn’t been an overnight change. This has been a gradual journey that has slowly changed the way that I see my life and my faith.”
Her announcement marked the end of one chapter and the beginning of another. Instead of producing content centered on tarot cards, she invited followers to join her new TikTok page, where she plans to discuss the Bible, Christian faith, and whatever God places on her heart to share.
The account also revealed her real identity for many followers. Her name is Alexandra Ashcroft, and her new TikTok handle, “alexcourageinchrist,” has already attracted more than 50,000 followers in a remarkably short period, signaling that many people are interested in following her new journey.
Ashcroft said she is focused on faithfully living one day at a time rather than worrying about what lies ahead.
“I can’t preempt it because I’m not worried about tomorrow. We don’t worry about tomorrow. We focus on where our feet are now on this walk,” she continued.
Her first video on the new account reflected on John 15:18, where Jesus reminds His disciples that they should not be surprised when the world rejects them because it first rejected Him.
Ashcroft connected that passage directly to the criticism she has received since publicly distancing herself from tarot cards and New Age spirituality. While acknowledging that some people have attacked her decision, she made it clear that the backlash does not compare to what Christ endured on the cross.
“I don’t mind when people tell lies,” she said.
“I don’t mind conspiracy because nothing compares to the sacrifice that Jesus made.”
Her testimony reflects a growing trend that many Christians have pointed to in recent years as former New Age personalities publicly renounce occult practices and embrace biblical Christianity. While stories of dramatic conversions have become increasingly visible online, Ashcroft is far from the only prominent figure to make such a change.
Among the most notable examples is Doreen Virtue, once considered one of the world’s most influential New Age authors. Virtue built an enormously successful career promoting angel readings, tarot cards, oracle decks, vision boards, and other spiritual practices that blended Christian terminology with teachings from multiple religious traditions.
Her work generated extraordinary success, allowing her to become financially prosperous and even live on a sprawling 50-acre ranch in Hawaii. Yet despite the fame and fortune, Virtue eventually found herself confronting the truth of Scripture after listening to a sermon by Pastor Alistair Begg on 2 Timothy 4, which warns about false teachers who tell people only what they want to hear.
That message prompted her to begin reading the Bible from beginning to end. As she studied passages such as Deuteronomy, which warns against divination, mediums, and occult practices, she said she became convicted that the spiritual path she had spent years promoting was incompatible with biblical Christianity. She ultimately repented and committed her life to Jesus Christ.
Reflecting on that experience years later, Virtue acknowledged that publicly reversing course came with an enormous personal cost.
“Having to admit that I was wrong to the entire world — my books were published in 38 languages — has been deeply humbling. Even so, I needed that humility to better learn how to lean upon God,” she reflected.
“I still feel guilty knowing that people continue to use and sell my old products, even though I have begged them to stop. But these situations offer opportunities to share the gospel. I pray continually that God will use my witness to point New Agers to Jesus.”
Ashcroft’s public testimony now joins a growing number of stories from former New Age influencers who say they have found a new purpose through Christianity. While her previous platform was built on tarot readings and spiritual guidance rooted in New Age beliefs, her new mission is centered on sharing Scripture and encouraging others to explore the Christian faith. Whether her audience follows her into this next chapter remains to be seen, but her dramatic transformation has already sparked widespread discussion across social media and within Christian communities.
