Canadian Ambassador Kirsten Hillman, also present at the dinner, shed light on the contentious conversations that unfolded. Speaking to the Associated Press, Hillman emphasized the stark differences between Canada’s and Mexico’s roles in fentanyl trafficking. “There is essentially zero trafficking of fentanyl from Canada to the United States,” Hillman said, highlighting that most fentanyl seizures from Canada are small amounts for personal use, unlike the large-scale trafficking from Mexico.
