I look forward to continuing to work to ensure that federal spending produces real results for the American people and that our state’s needs are met.”
But these priorities, which focus heavily on local projects, raise red flags for fiscal conservatives, who are more focused on reducing federal spending across the board. Collins’ track record in Congress shows a willingness to break from her party on key issues, and many fear this will continue as she takes the helm of the Appropriations Committee.
