Schumer Terrified of Radical Takeover, Johnson Says!

House Speaker Mike Johnson is turning up the heat on Senate Democrats, accusing Majority Leader Chuck Schumer and House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries of caving to far-left extremists rather than doing their jobs to reopen the government.

Speaking on Fox Business this week, Johnson laid out the growing frustration among Republicans and ordinary Americans as the shutdown enters its fourth week. “We are in the fourth week of this shutdown and we’ve got unpaid federal workers, families that rely on food programs,” host Cheryl Casone said — setting the stage for Johnson’s blunt assessment of Democratic leadership.

Johnson reminded viewers that it was Republicans who first acted to keep the government running. “Remember, it was over a month ago that the House did our job, we passed a clean continuing resolution, totally nonpartisan, 24-page, very simple piece of legislation to just keep the lights on,” he said. “The Democrats voted it down… because they’re playing partisan games.”

According to Johnson, Democrats rejected the GOP’s clean funding bill nearly a dozen times — not because of policy differences, but because of political fear. “Their CR is not a clean one, it’s a dirty one,” he said, adding that Democrats “want to spend a trillion and a half new dollars on all sorts of wasteful programs, including 200 billion dollars to fund healthcare benefits on the backs of American taxpayers for illegal aliens.”
