What should have been a fun, family-friendly Hispanic Heritage Night celebration quickly spiraled into chaos after one scoreboard message triggered a meltdown.
During the first intermission of the Sharks’ 3–0 loss to the Pittsburgh Penguins, fans looked up and saw the words: “SJ SHARKS FANS LOVE ICE!! GET’EM BOYZ!”
On the surface, it looked like a playful cheer — hockey fans showing love for their team on the ice. But left-wing activists and local “Karens” immediately twisted the message into something else, claiming it was a political statement in support of Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).
Instead of shrugging it off or defending free expression, the Sharks organization went into full panic mode.
