A shocking and tragic scene unfolded late Saturday night in St. Louis when a young woman lost her life in an incident that underscores the growing recklessness seen in American cities.

According to authorities, Nyla Simmons was killed around 11:30 PM at the intersection of South Compton Avenue and Chouteau Avenue. Simmons was reportedly twerking on the roof of a moving Cadillac Escalade when the vehicle attempted a left-hand turn. The maneuver caused her to lose her balance, fall onto the pavement, and tragically, she was immediately run over by an oncoming St. Louis Fire Department truck responding to an emergency call.
