A decision has been made by the GOP National Committee on the party’s fiercely contested state chair position.
Just in: Pete Hoekstra, the former US House Intelligence Chair and Trump ambassador to the Netherlands, has been named the GOP chair in Michigan.

Renowned conservative activist Kristina Karamo was chosen by MIGOP delegates in March 2023, and on January 6 the RNC affirmed her expulsion. In accordance with appropriate bylaws, 71 state committee members—including proxies—voted 40–6 to do this.
Robert Morris Owens, an unofficial spokesman for the old MIGOP, MI GOP General Counsel Daniel Hartman, and MIGOP Executive Director James Michael Copas were all removed in addition to Karamo.
Following a month-long battle for leadership of the struggling MIGOP in Michigan, Pete Hoekstra was able to get President Trump’s support for MIGOP Chair.

During a conference call on February 12, when attorneys for Pete Hoekstra and Kristina Karamo presented their arguments, the decision was made.
