In a brazen Instagram post, Oliver Anthony clarifies his position about his support for President Joe Biden.

“Corporate news (big surprise) is now trying to twist me into being a Biden supporter,” Anthony said while emoji-ing a laughing face.
The country music artist makes it clear that “Rich Men North of Richmond” criticizes politicians on all sides of the political spectrum.

Before criticizing Biden, Anthony argues that his song is not politically conservative and cites a Republican primary discussion in which it was mentioned.
Anthony’s clarification did little but reinforce preconceptions that his message supported Democrats.
“Rich Men North Richmond is about corporate owned DC politicians on both sides,” he said.
Anthony really disagreed with the way Florida Governor and presidential hopeful Ron DeSantis cited his music throughout the discussion.

Anthony refutes and accuses DeSantis of making the claim that the song was only about Biden.
“He talks about needing to get Joe Biden out, as if that would automatically solve all the problems. Biden is a big part of the issue, [but] it runs much deeper,” Anthony said.
The country musician continued: “It’s knocking the system collectively… Including the corporate owned conservative politicians that were on stage that night.”
