RFK Jr. Triggers Left With Food Stamp Soda Ban!

In a move that’s shaking up the debate over government food programs, Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. is leading a charge to eliminate soda from the menu of items eligible under the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP). And he’s not alone—West Virginia Governor Patrick Morrisey is already on board, setting the stage for what could become a sweeping policy shift.

During a Friday event in the Mountain State, Kennedy took his “Make America Healthy Again” campaign to the frontlines of nutritional reform, standing shoulder-to-shoulder with Morrisey as the governor unveiled his plan to request a waiver from the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA). The aim? To strip soda from SNAP’s list of approved purchases.
