Red State Just CRUSHED Dems’ Midterm Dreams!

Democrats in Texas are facing a political nightmare. A newly unveiled congressional map threatens to shut down their hopes of reclaiming the U.S. House in 2026—and the panic from the Left is palpable.

On Wednesday, Republican state lawmakers introduced a sweeping redistricting proposal that could lock in as many as five new safe GOP seats in the Texas congressional delegation. With the GOP holding strong majorities in both chambers of the Texas Legislature, the map is all but certain to pass and land on Governor Greg Abbott’s desk for final approval.

In a dramatic show of desperation, whispers are circulating among Democrat lawmakers about fleeing the state to block a quorum and delay the vote. This isn’t the first time Texas Democrats have considered fleeing—similar antics were pulled in 2021 during a voting bill showdown. And now it seems they may try it again. Their effort has gained national attention, especially with House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries (D-NY) flying into Austin for an emergency meeting with state Democrats.

“This is a moment that requires a forceful on-the-ground response, and that is why I am traveling to Texas to convene with members of the Texas House and Senate delegations as well as our Democratic members representing Texas [in Congress],” Jeffries said in a statement to Politico.
