Regarding the J6 controversy, Epps is accused of evading charges while others were subjected to severe punishments. Rumors about his connections to the government and his role in starting the riots are bolstered by video of him allegedly urging people to enter the Capitol during a vital election certification.

On the eve of the riots, Epps said in a videotaped statement that he was willing to go to jail for breaking into the Capitol. He fervently exhorted others to follow suit and stand with him.

“We need to go INTO the Capitol, INTO the Capitol,” Epps yelled.

Christopher Wray, director of the FBI, denies the allegations, calling them “ludicrous” and a “disservice” to FBI officers. The chief of the Bureau acknowledges Epps for the first time in more than two years while swearing under oath.

On Tuesday, many people reacted favorably to the accusation against Epps and questioned how someone with his background could avoid other charges.

“This lame single charge tells us everything we need to know about Ray Epps,” wrote X user Julie Kelly. “No obstruction felony? No civil disorder charge? Not even a trespassing on restricted grounds misdemeanor? Epps not only encouraged people to go into the Capitol on Jan 5 and 6, he was one of the first to breach exterior lines, interfered with security, and remained on restricted grounds for more than an hour.”

The riveting Fox News primetime program hosted by Tucker Carlson created a lot of rumors about Epps’ participation. Carlson, however, shocked the audience by offering strong evidence that Epps might have lied under oath.

In light of the widespread use of facial-recognition technology to identify those who committed the Capitol building breach, Capitol Police Chief Steven Sund challenges the government’s dedication to justice in the case of Epps.

“Here you have a guy on camera repeatedly saying “We are going to the Capitol” and he is not in jail when people who did not go into the Capitol are in jail? What do you make of that?” during a recent appearance, Sund questioned Tucker Carlson.
