A new chapter in Sen. Rand Paul’s long-running investigation into Anthony Fauci has put alleged destruction of federal records and previously undisclosed research programs back under the congressional microscope.
Paul, the Republican chairman of the Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee, says investigators uncovered an email in government computer records in which Fauci’s longtime special assistant allegedly told him she had destroyed a large number of his emails.
According to Paul, the message was blunt:
“Hey, Dr. Fauci, I was able to destroy tons of your emails this weekend.”
