Raman Surges as Pratt Stumbles

The battle for second place in Los Angeles’ mayoral contest just took another dramatic turn, and many voters are beginning to ask whether the final outcome is already being shaped behind closed doors.

Reality television personality Spencer Pratt entered election week with surprising momentum, outperforming expectations and positioning himself as a serious challenger to the city’s political establishment. But after the latest wave of mail-in ballots was processed Friday evening, Democratic City Councilwoman Nithya Raman suddenly gained significant ground, tightening a race that many believed Pratt had under control just days earlier.

The newest ballot count included nearly 60,000 additional votes, and the distribution heavily favored Raman. According to election results released Friday, Raman collected more than 23,000 votes from the latest batch while Pratt received approximately 11,000.

The timing of the vote shift immediately raised eyebrows among observers already skeptical of California’s prolonged ballot-counting process.

Incumbent Mayor Karen Bass remains the clear frontrunner and has already been projected to move forward to the November runoff election. The real fight now centers on who will secure the second spot and earn the chance to challenge Bass later this year.
