Chicago remains one of the most dangerous cities in America. Trump highlighted the grim reality just this week.
“A really DEADLY weekend in Chicago,” Trump posted on Truth Social. “6 DEAD, 27 HURT IN CRIME SPREES ALL OVER THE CITY. Panic stricken Governor Pritzker says that crime is under control, when in fact it is just the opposite.”
And here’s the kicker: even Trump’s numbers understated the horror. Chicago Police Department data shows there were actually nine murders that week, not six.
Meanwhile, Pritzker was busy staging a choreographed early-morning lakeside stroll to “prove” Chicago was safe. Maybe next time he should try walking the South Side alone at 2 a.m. on a Saturday night.
Democrats Spin Numbers to Hide Failure
Mayor Brandon Johnson and Pritzker cling to cherry-picked statistics, boasting about a drop in violent crime compared to last year. Yes, shootings dipped nearly 40%, and robberies dropped by more than 30%.
But here’s what they leave out: crime is still higher than it was in 2021.
That’s like a failing student celebrating because they went from an F to a D+. It’s still failure — just slightly less humiliating.
And while the mayor attacks Trump’s strategy as “uncoordinated, uncalled for, and unsound,” the bodies keep piling up.
Washington vs. Chicago: A Stark Contrast
Why does Pritzker fear Trump’s plan so much? Because the proof is already on display in Washington, D.C.
Hundreds of federal agents and National Guard troops have flooded the capital, and the change has been immediate. Residents can finally walk their neighborhoods without fear. Restaurants and shops are seeing a surge in customers because people feel safe again.
Trump didn’t wait for local politicians to give him permission. He acted. And it worked.
That terrifies Democrat leaders like Pritzker. Because if Trump can restore safety in D.C., it proves their excuses in Chicago are just that — excuses.
Pritzker’s Real Priority: Pride Over People
This isn’t about “unlawful deployments,” as Pritzker and Johnson like to claim. It’s about saving lives.
Yet they keep crying that Trump’s plan is “unconstitutional” and “un-American.” What’s truly un-American is letting gangs run entire neighborhoods while playing politics with public safety.
The reality is simple: criminals already occupy Chicago. Trump wants to send in the good guys with badges to restore order. Pritzker wants to block them so he doesn’t have to admit his soft-on-crime policies have failed.
And that’s the ugly truth Illinois families need to face: their governor would rather posture on X than pick up the phone and ask for help.
Six people died and 27 were wounded in one weekend alone. Instead of begging for backup, Pritzker threatened the man offering it.
That’s not leadership. That’s cowardice dressed up as politics. And Chicago’s families are paying the price.
